China Classification Society issued the First Approval Certificate for Low-temperature Expansion Joints and Carbon Fiber Materials

news-details

Recently, China Classification Society (CCS) Wuhan Branch issued an approval certificate for low-temperature expansion joints and carbon fiber materials to Luoyang Ship Material Research Institute (CSSC No.725 Research Institute for short). Xu Li, General Manager of Wuhan Branch, Du Haigen, Deputy General Manager of Wuhan Branch, Wang Qihong, Director of CSSC No.725 Research Institute, Sun Lei, Deputy Director of CSSC No.725 Research Institute, and relevant technical personnel from both parties attended the certificate-awarding ceremony. The low-temperature expansion joints and carbon fiber materials approved this time are the first applied to ships for domestic equipment to achieve autonomous control. After the certificate-awarding ceremony, both parties conducted business exchanges.

Wang Qihong briefly reviewed the cooperation process between CSSC No.725 Research Institute and CCS, and expressed gratitude for CCS’s long-term support. He introduced the development status of main responsibilities and business, key research areas, and five major industrial sectors of CSSC No.725 Research Institute, as well as the high-quality development plan for the 14th Five-Year Plan. He hoped to strengthen cooperation with CCS in joint research, product testing and certification, the formulation and revision of marine material standards, etc. in the future, improve technical level and international competitiveness, and achieve the promotion and application of new materials in the fields of advanced marine engineering and high-tech ships.

Xu Li expressed tanks for the support provided by CSSC No.725 Research Institute in the recognition and testing of marine materials for CCS. He highly praised the achievements made by CSSC No.725 Research Institute in the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, material R&D, etc., and hoped to strengthen communication and regular exchanges based on previous good cooperation, leverage their respective technological and industry advantages, and expand the scope of cooperation.

In recent years, CCS and CSSC No.725 Research Institute have made fruitful cooperation in key technologies and evaluation methods of high-strength crack-arrest thick steel plates and low-temperature austenitic high manganese steel for large container ships to achieve technology leading and safeguard the interests of the domestic shipbuilding and steel industry. The two parties will conduct in-depth cooperation in joint research, product testing and certification, as well as standards formulation and revision, and further promote the implementation of various tasks of the strategic cooperation agreement.
